should be part of our daily routines but too few of us practice them on a regular basis.
So you’ve finally taken the plunge and signed up for an affiliate opportunity and now you’re working at home with your very own internet business. You know that this is the business for you and you’re anxious to see quick results and make that promised 100k in 100 days. You’re following all the marketing instructions on how to advertise and how to drive traffic to your new website. You’re working longer hours than the initial 2 hours a day you were told you’d have to work, but still you know it is well worth it because pretty soon you’ll start raking in the big bucks. You’re starting to feel a little stiff around the shoulders from all the sitting in front of the computer, and when you get up, it takes a moment or two to loosen up the leg joints. This is very familiar to all who make their living in front of a computer screen. Here are a few health tips that can make your workday a little more comfortable.
1. Take frequent breaks. Standing up and stretching for 2 to 3 minutes at least once every 30 to 40 minutes will work out the kinks and give your eyes a few minutes to focus on something other than the computer screen. Use a timer to alert you when it’s time for a break.
2. Drink plenty of water. Believe or not, you can get dehydrated from just sitting. To remind yourself, place a glass of water where you can see it but not close enough to spill it on the computer keyboard. (been there, done that)
3. About midway through your workday, take a 15 minute break and lie on your back on the floor with your legs up a wall. Try to get your bottom as close to the wall as you can without putting any strain on your back. Stay there for the entire 15 minutes if you can. This is excellent for relieving tension and lowering blood pressure.
4. Establish a designated work time. Time flies when you’re on the computer. It’s easy to sit for 12 or more hours a day in front of the computer when you’re trying to get your business going. Try to limit yourself to 8 hours or less including breaks. The computer will still be there tomorrow when you return. Planning your workday in advance will help you facilitate your time schedule. Make sure you establish days off and stick to them. This can be extremely important if you are married or in a serious relationship. It’s very easy to become “married” to an online business. If that happens, you may need more than these health tips.
5. If you’re the praying sort, start and end your day with a prayer of thanks for the opportunity to learn and earn with affiliate programs. It is a privilege that too few in this world have.
6. Last but not least, keep a positive outlook and be happy, no matter what. Happiness is good for your health.
